Ihr wollt Musik selber machen und wisst nicht, wie und wo ihr anfangen sollt? Die Programme sind teuer, und scheinbar muss man unendlich viel Ahnung haben. Aber muss frau* ja mal anfangen. Am besten mit dem Programm Audacity. Das ist ist kostenlos und plattformübergreifend und damit zugänglich für alle. Und viel leistungsfähiger, als die einfach gestaltete grafische Oberfläche vermuten lässt. Die Grundlagen für die Musikproduktion sind bei Audacity vorhanden, und die könnt ihr in diesem Workshop lernen.
Ihr bekommt eine minikurze Einführung in die Bedeutung des Samplens und Loopens als wichtige Kulturtechniken unserer Zeit. Ihr werdet selbst samplen, d.h. Geräusche aufnehmen, bearbeiten und euch damit einen Baukasten an „Instrumenten“ anlegen. Es werden euch auch schicke Samples bereitgestellt. Die Samples könnt ihr dann loopen, also ihr ordnet sie rhythmisch an. Dabei lernt ihr auch etwas über den Einsatz von Effekten. Ihr mixt die einzelnen Elemente zu einer kleinen Komposition zusammen und baut so nach und nach euren ersten selbstgemachten Track.
Zielgruppe: Anfänger_innen. Ihr müsst kein Instrument spielen und auch nicht „musikalisch“ sein. Euer Alter spielt keine Rolle. Wichtig ist nur, dass ihr Interesse daran habt, selbst Musik zu machen. Besonders dazu eingeladen sind Mädchen* und Frauen*.
Technische Voraussetzung: Bringt euer Laptop mit installiertem Audacity mit, evtl. euer Aufnahmegerät und (möglichst geschlossene) Kopfhörer!

Vous voulez produire votre propre musique, mais ne savez pas par où commencer? Les logiciels sont chers et à ce qu’il paraît, il faut être expert.e en la matière. Mais il faut bien commencer quelque part. Et le mieux c’est de s’y mettre à l’aide du logiciel Audacity. Il est gratuit et donc accessible à tous. Et en plus, beaucoup plus performant que son interface graphique simple ne laisse présager. Audacity contient les bases de production de musique et vous allez les apprendre au cours de ce workshop.

Nous débuterons par une petite introduction qui vous montrera l’importance des samples et des loops en tant que techniques culturelles de notre époque. Vous allez produire vos propres samples, c’est-à-dire enregistrer des sons, les manipuler et ainsi vous constituer une „boîte à instruments“. Il y aura aussi la possibilité de travailler sur base de samples qui vous seront mis à disposition. Vous pourrez ainsi looper vos samples, c’est-à-dire les disposer rythmiquement. Vous allez également apprendre à utiliser des effets et mixer tous les éléments afin d’arriver à une petite composition qui aboutira à votre premier morceau.

Publique cible: débutant.e.s. Pas besoin de jouer d’un instrument ou d’avoir l’oreille musicale. Votre âge n’importe pas non plus. Le plus important, c’est votre intérêt à produire votre propre musique. L’invitation s’adresse plus particulièrement aux filles et femmes.

Conditions techniques préalables: apportez votre ordinateur portable avec le logiciel Audactiy installé, éventuellement un enregistreur, ainsi qu’un casque audio (fermé si possible).

You want to produce your own music, but don’t know where to start? The software is expensive and apparently one needs a lot of expertise. But you have to start somewhere. The editing program Audacity is perfect to begin with. It is available for free and therefor accessible for everyone. In addition, it is much more efficient than you could think when you look at its simple interface. The basics for music production are available in Audacity and that’s what you are going to learn in this workshop.

You will get a short introduction into the importance of sampling and looping as cultural techniques of our time. You will create some samples yourselves, which means you will record sounds, edit them and thereby build yourselves an instrument tool box. There will also be the possibility to use the samples that will be provided. Then you will loop the samples, which means you will dispose them rhythmically. At this stage, you will also learn something about the use of effects. You will mix all the elements in order to reach a little composition, your first selfmade track.

Target group: beginners. You don’t have to know how to play an instrument, nor have any musical talent. Your age doesn’t matter. The only thing that is important is your interest in creating music youself. I would like to especially invite girls* and women* to join the workshop.

Technical requirement: bring your laptop with the software Audacity already installed, optionally a recording device and (preferably closed) headphones.
