Soziale Medien gehören mittlerweile zur kritischen Infrastruktur im Informationszeitalter, aber setzen gleichzeitig für ihre Nutzer*innen ungleiche Entfaltungsräume. Häufig bestimmen nicht Qualität von Inhalten, sondern Algorithmen, wer Aufmerksamkeit bekommt.
Im Workshop „Freies Radio & Social Media“ sollen verschiedene Plattformen und Ansätze der Arbeit in sozialen Medien vorgestellt werden. Darüber hinaus diskutieren wir Konzeptionen, wie wir unsere Arbeit in diesen Medien darstellen und von der erweiterten Reichweite profitieren können.
Was wir nicht machen wollen: Die allgemeine Sinnhaftigkeit von sozialen Medien diskutieren.

Social media is now part of the critical infrastructure in the information age, but at the same time it creates unequal spaces for its users to develop. It is often not the quality of content but algorithms that determine who gets attention.
The workshop „Free Radio & Social Media“ will present various platforms and approaches to working in social media. We will also discuss concepts on how we can present our work in these media and benefit from the extended reach.
What we don’t want to do: Discuss the general usefulness of social media.
